Celebrating Exchange Day In 2024

Learn more about Exchange Day in 2024

Exchange Day is a worldwide celebration of the power of international exchange. International exchange participants, community stakeholders, and program implementers share cultural diversity and American customs, give back to their communities, and have some fun. This day is also an opportunity to raise awareness of international exchange programs and spread the word about the power and breadth of cultural exchange.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Exchange Day on August 5, 2024. Traditionally, international exchange participants and community stakeholders come together under the slogan "Eat, Play, and Give", to organize local community events, share cultural diversity and American customs, give back to their communities, and have some fun. Learn more about this celebration and how you can get involved with this year’s Exchange Day website.

Local Exchange Day Events

In collaboration with our sister company, Odyssey International Exchange, and key stakeholders, we organize local events for Exchange Day annually. This year, we are hosting an event in McCall, Idaho. Together with BridgeUSA J-1 Exchange Visitors in the area and the representatives from Shore Lodge & Whitetail, we will share cultures with the local community.

Additionally, several of our host company partners from across the United States will be holding other local events with their BridgeUSA J-1 Exchange Visitors.

If you are interested in joining a celebration, you can organize your own local event or find one near you in different locations across the United States.

Last Year’s Events

During last year's Exchange Day event, our team, along with BridgeUSA J-1 Exchange Visitors from Denver, Colorado, truly bonded under the #EatPlayGive slogan. We organized a volunteer event that combined community service with local cultural activities. The day included a local area cleanup initiative, followed by attending a Colorado Rockies game, enjoying delicious food, and having a great time.

In previous years, we have worked with BridgeUSA J-1 Exchange Visitors and our host company partners to organize meaningful Exchange Day events in various locations across the United States, including May River, South Carolina; Dana Point, California; and Marion, Utah, among others.

These events aimed to support local communities and promote cultural exchange among locals and internationals. They emphasized the importance of international exchange, offering a platform for J-1 Interns and Trainees to share experiences, learn from each other, celebrate diversity and support the local communities. Here are some highlights from previous Exchange Day events across the USA!

We highly encourage all BridgeUSA J-1 Interns and Trainees to participate in a local celebration for Exchange Day and share the vibrant experience of cultural exchange with locals and fellow internationals. If you attend an Exchange Day event, do not forget to tag us in your social media pictures and use the hashtags #CelebrateExchangeDay, #ExchangesImpact, and #ExchangeDay2024.
