Description of the Host Property:
Nestled on Hawaii's Big Island, Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort, spans 81 acres of volcanic landscape along the Kona Coast. The resort features 150 stand-alone thatched-roof bungalows, known as hales, offering diverse views from lush gardens to oceanfront panoramas. Each hale harmoniously blends luxury with nature, providing spacious interiors and outdoor showers. Guests can enjoy pristine beaches, serene lagoons, and two distinctive pools. Dining venues emphasize local cuisine, reflecting the resort's commitment to authentic Hawaiian experiences.

Description of the Training:
Gain invaluable skills and knowledge in the Food and Beverage department of a world-leading luxury hotel/resort through a J-1 hospitality internship or traineeship program at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. During your program, you will receive training and mentorship from industry leaders in the F&B field as you rotate through different outlets on the property. This rotational program is designed to give you exposure to the international hospitality industry and give you the experience to excel in your career when you return to your home country.

Unlike most J-1 Program providers, a regional ITN representative will guide you through a streamlined registration process, thanks to ITN and ODYSSEY’s all-inclusive approach. ITN and ODYSSEY will be on hand to provide you with the very best personalized service from the time that you arrive in the United States until your departure from the United States upon completion of your program.

Description of the Location:
Nestled along Hawaii’s Big Island’s sunny west coast, Kailua-Kona is a tropical paradise where golden sunsets kiss the Pacific and gentle waves lap against black lava shores. Once a retreat for Hawaiian royalty, this charming seaside town boasts vibrant markets, lush coffee farms, and historic landmarks like Hulihe‘e Palace. Snorkel with manta rays, sip world-renowned Kona coffee, or simply stroll Ali‘i Drive, where island culture meets breathtaking ocean views. Kailua-Kona is where aloha spirit thrives in every salty breeze.


Requirements

  • Conversational English required. 

  • Must be a current student of a Hospitality or Tourism post-secondary academic institution. 

  • Or recent graduate (less than 12 months ago) of a Hospitality or Tourism post-secondary academic institution. 

  • Or a graduate of a Hospitality or Tourism post-secondary academic institution (more than 12 months ago) with 12 months of verifiable related work experience.

  • Or must have 5 years of verifiable related work experience.
